Coaching and Resources for Female Endurance Athletes

Hi! Welcome to Coach Katie’s female endurance athlete coaching and resource page. While Katie coaches athletes of all gender identities, she is especially passionate about working with female athletes. Whether you are training for your first 5K or trying to qualify for the IRONMAN World Championships, she can help you work with your physiology to optimize performance, stay healthy, and enjoy the process. Examples include:

  • Contextualizing training around the menstrual cycle and modifying based on symptoms to capitalize on times when you feel super awesome vs. a little more flat.

  • Keeping tabs on physical and mental health indicators that can signal low energy availability, REDs, and/or the Female Athlete Triad (and connecting you with professional resources if these conditions are a concern).

  • Optimizing training around perimenopause and menopause to keep you feeling your best, maintaining strength and speed, and performing well through all stages of life.

  • Incorporating strength and mobility routines that directly target injury-prone areas for women.

  • Keeping an open dialogue about the mental and emotional challenges of training and competing in male-dominated spaces with weekly mental health check-ins that complement my daily reviews of your training.

  • Helping you navigate questions about menstrual health, contraception, pregnancy, and other topics in an athletic context, and. connecting you to professional medical and mental health resources that are specific to female athletes.

  • Recommending gear, apparel, and other products (think: sports bras! bike saddles! shorts that don’t chafe!) that will help you look and feel confident as you train and compete.

  • And much more! We are always open to feedback on how to best support female endurance athletes.
