2020 Triathlon Training Camps
There’s nothing like a training camp to bump your fitness, learn new skills and focused time with like-minded athletes. The bonds created during a training camp often last a life-time. We are meant to work together in a tribe!
The Endurance Drive will run a number of training camps in 2020. Contact Us to stay in the loop with 2020 camps as they are announced. We have started planning the following camps:
March 2020: FL Challenge & Intimidator Race & mini-camp. Join The Endurance Drive for early season racing in Florida in the middle of March 2020. Check out the Clermont Triathlon (Olympic Distance) and FL Challenge - the Intimidator (half distance / 70.3) on March 14, 2020. Please contact Jim to discuss race & camp details.
March 2020: Tuscon, AZ Triathlon Training Camp. Tentative schedule for 4th week in March 2020. Coach Eliot is a local professional triathlete and will show us the best roads, bike trails, swimming pools and trail runs. Coach Eliot is a front of pack swimmer and considered a leading swim coach. Pool sessions will include one-on-one instruction with Eliot, video analysis and individual stroke correction. All Endurance Drive coaches will be in attendance, working and training with you. The camp will be aimed at improving your swim, bike and run fitness with a primary focus on triathletes racing half Ironman (70.3) and IRONMAN distance. We will, of course, spend a morning riding Mount Lemmon and eat terrific Mexican food! Whether you are looking to race an early 2020 IRONMAN or 70.3 IRONMAN, or simply need to escape winter for a week of swim/bike/run fun, this camp will provide a high level of activity and coaching.
June 2020: IRONMAN Lake Placid Triathlon Training Camp. Scheduled for June 5 - 7th 2020 in Lake Placid, NY. We will gather on Friday night at an AirBNB on the bike course, enjoy food and prep for a big day. The Saturday schedule includes a two loop, 112 mile bike and a 13 mile run off the bike. We will stop at the AirBNB to refuel on the bikes at the end of the 1st loop and at the end of the 2nd loop to transition from bike to run. The run will be supported by an Endurance Drive coach, driving on the run course to deliver food, hydration and attend to athlete needs. Saturday night we will recover hard with yummy food and tell tales of the day. Sunday morning is an optional swim if Mirror Lake is warm enough (this is hit or miss depending on the winter) and a long run, usually another 13 miles on the run course or whatever length athletes target. We wrap up by noon Sunday, have a big brunch in town and then head home to soak in all the hard fought fitness. If you are racing IRONMAN Lake Placid, this is a perfect opportunity to preview the course, work on race pacing, race day nutrition, strategy and tactics. Hanover, NH Endurance Training: Coach Jim runs an endurance training squad based in Hanover, NH. We welcome visitors to the area and can incorporate you into our squad for a long weekend or some other pre-arranged time. If you are looking for some one-on-one coaching or swim/bike/run training with a group, please contact Jim to discuss.
